Beliefs

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God's Word, His communication to us, penned by men but directed and inspired by God through the Holy Spirit.  The Bible contains no errors, and is the complete, final and only authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.              2 Timothy 3:16

About God

We believe in one God,  eternally existing in three persons  -  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe that there is one God in perfect holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power.  God showed His love for all people by sending His Son to die for our sins so that we might have eternal life with God in heaven.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

About Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God Himself, and that He became man, conceived by the Holy Ghost, born from a virgin.  Because Jesus lived a sinless life,  He was able to give His life for atonement for the sins of all the people of this world.  Jesus laid down His life and took it up again, so that mankind might receive eternal life.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:  God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.     1 Timothy 3:16

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.   Acts  4:12

 About the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment.  The Holy Spirit is received when we receive the gift of God, which is salvation by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus.  The power of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to live for Christ.

Then Peter said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."           Acts 2:38

About Mankind

We believe mankind was created by God and in the image of God.  Man forfeited everything when he chose to disobey God, and as a result man was separated from God.  Sin still separates man from God.  Without forgiveness of sin, no man will see God.

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created  him;  male and female He created  them.      Genesis  1:27

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.       Romans  6:23

          About Salvation

We believe that we are saved by the grace of God alone.  We believe that salvation depends on accepting Christ as both Savior and Lord (repentance) of your life.  We believe that salvation is the gift of God freely given to all who come to God in faith.  We believe that once you are truly saved, you can never loose your salvation, nothing can separate you from the love of God.  The blood of Jesus is stronger than our sin.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians  2:8-9

About Ordinances

We believe the ordinance of baptism by immersion in water is commanded by the scriptures.  All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized.  We believe baptism saves no one, but is an outward expression of our faith and salvation.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost;      Matthew  28:19

We believe in Holy Communion (1Corinthians 11:24-25).  We believe the Lord's supper is to be observed as a memorial of Christ's suffering and death, a prophecy of His soon return,  to be participated in by all believers.

About the Church

We believe in the assembly of believers, joined together to worship and praise God.  We believe in faithful study of the Word of God.  We believe as the body of Christ we are commissioned to teach others the gospel.

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.     Hebrews  10:24-25

About the Return of Christ Jesus

We believe in that Jesus Christ will return one day very soon for His own, as He promised in His Word.

In my Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.     John  14:2-2

About Eternity

We believe every person has an eternity, either with God or without  God, based on their decision to accept God's free gift of salvation while alive on this earth.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.     Romans  6:23

About the Christian Walk

Everything we do should be done for the glory of God.  Our focus is to be on faithfully trusting Jesus as our only means of salvation, and living in obedience according to the Holy Bible.  Our faith and trust on Jesus should bring joy and hope according to the Holy Bible.  Our faith and trust on Jesus should bring joy and hope that we can find in no other place.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.     Philippians  4:4
